Autum Light

With the weather we have been having lately, winter is fast approaching. Even so every now and then the natural beauty of light stops me in my tracks. Just saw the light coming through the trees next door this afternoon and thought it looked beautiful.

Sophia

You may remember that I posted a photo of this little girl last year here. She really is someone special, she is so confident and just loves to talk and show off. I had the opportunity to shoot her again and this is just one of the images. She hadn't changed a bit just as confident and happy as she was the last time.

Urban Life

Decided to take to-day to try and shoot some images for my Urban Life project, however the weather had other ideas. I rained all day, despite the weather forecast being fairly good. I visited the shipyard and also Funderland on the Boucher Road.
There was a free art exhibition on at the old drawing office at Harland and Wolff, and as it was raining it was a bit of a no brainer.
These were taken with the D700 and the night shots were at 1600 iso, pretty amazing. The photos show a stark contrast between the old and the modern.

The Funderland shots would have been better if I could have got there around dusk, but that was not to be to-day, just gota take what you can get sometimes.

A day for Firsts

Sunday certainly was a day for first. Jt & Elaine celebrated their first year of marriage and hit the papers as you can see below.
Elaine was also enrolled as a leader in Ballydown Girl Guides for the first time.
Two Boys from 1st Ballydown Boys Brigade (Craig and Adam) were the first boys in the Company's history to receive the prestigious Queens Badge. Not bad for a Sunday.

(as always click the photos for a a lrger image, especiallw the newspaper as you can then read the comments)

Natural Light, ISO 1600, yes ISO1600

If you know anything about digital cameras you will know that they create noise at high ISO speeds, that was up until recently. The new range of Nikon cameras the D3 and the D700 have rewritten the rules. These photos were shot at ISO1600 with the D700 my other camera would not even come close to this quality at 400 ISO.

New woman in my life?

This is Joy and she is going to help me with lighting over the next few weeks. She is always available, she is easy maintenance, she doesn't talk back or get bored. what more could you ask for?
