A watchful eye

Just a quick shot of Bert on duty in the garden.

Mr Man United.

One of the things I like about my job is I get the chance to meet some great people. I have known Conor since he was an apprentice and I am still working along side him some twenty odd years later. Conor's love for Rally Car Racing is only surpassed by his love of football, or more specifically Manchester United, Conor even has his own brick at Old Traford.
I met him the other night at the studio and he showed me at least 20 football tops all signed by various famous players.

Sun Flower

I have always wanted to photograph a sun flower so at the weekend I bought some in Tesco for £2.99 and what value. They have blossomed and brightened up the kitchen ever since. The blue sky is not photo - shopped it is in fact real. We had about 1/2 hour of blue sky in between the ever present, ever depressing, never far away gray sky's of Northern Ireland. Summer has been a complete wash out lets hope for a better Autumn.

Molly

I shot this little dancer a few months ago just after her dance competition. I like the lighting in this image as it complements the period costume she is wearing for her set piece.

Belfast Humour

Had to post this photo that a friend sent me. We have spent the last few years with the most horrendous traffic problems as we have been building a new part of the motorway.
Just as we are getting near the end of the road a drop of rain falls. Nothing new for here except we got a months rain in one day.
Less than a week after the great floods the jokers make their first strike. I think this, is brilliant ,dont know who did it.

The new underpass at Broadway in Belfast filled with 25 foot of water, following the floods on Saturday.

My wee friend Katie

This is my wee friend Katie with her mum and dad. These photos were taken at a family reunion when Richard was home for a few days. Wish I had been more careful with my backgrounds. Memo to self Location, Location, Location.

Its a BIG one!

Just delivered my biggest print yet 30" X 40" I was well pleased with the result. Printed mounted on Foamboard and heat sealed.

Every cloud has a silver lining!

What a day Saturday was. Apparently we got four weeks rain in one day. People stranded our new west link flooded, cars abandoned. However Sunday was lovely and a planned trip to Glenariff Park with Emma and Muriel went ahead as planned. We had a lovely lunch in the car park and then went for a walk around the waterfall trail. Because we had so much rain all the waterfalls were in full tilt and were very full and powerful. Just a few snaps of two of the waterfalls. We drove home via the coast road and home without getting lost.

Chris

This is Chris. He made a request on Folio32 for someone to help him build up a portfolio. I responded as I had not shot a male model before. I wanted to try something different with the light and was trying for something with a little more edge.

The setting sun over Corbet

I was sitting one evening and I caught the setting sun just out the side of my eye. I got my camera and very quickly captured the photo below. Even with menacing clouds there can be rays of sunshine. I thought that is not a bad way to view life and all it throws at us.

My day

Started off to-day by taking Bert for a walk. The Ulster weavers factory down the road has just closed so I wanted to take a few photos of some of the old decaying sheds and machinery that are left, I just love the colours that a rusty piece of metal can have.

Called up to Belfast to visit Terry & Hazel to discover that they had just got a new suite for the front room, so had to take a quick snap of that.

Traveled on down to Strangford to visit mum & dad at the caravan. Discovered JT and Elaine had had the same idea. After dinner we had a game of bowls. We had to cut the game short due to a downpour. Dad was ahead while Jt and me were level pegged.

On the Fringe of things

Haven't be able to post for a while due to the volume of images I have had to process. Elaine Called around the other day with an all new hair style and as some of you have been asking me what it looks like I have posted a few photos. Toto is getting bigger and has more energy than 10 Berts. These were taken in the garden the other night, in between the downpours. we have had constant rain all this week everything is so washed out. We came home the other day to find the gazebo over the hedge, that was the end of that. Just as I was writing this even the horse riding was canceled.
