I heard about Chilifest on the radio and decided to check it out for myself. The Cathedral Quarter in Belfast has becoming increasingly popular as a venue for arts and Live music. The Festival was held down at Customs House Square. Two large marquees facilitated music all day. The quality of the bands and the sound system were of the highest standard. I look forward to being better prepared for next years event. The three bands I listened too were from Amsterdam, a bunch of Russians living in Germany, (Prost) and Stroke City here in Northern Ireland. All very good in their own way.
Had a great BBQ on Saturday. Some of the Lewis clan got together for a bit of craic. It was great to see Linda and Jon and catch up with the rest of the family. I had a great discussion with my cousin (who shall remain nameless) she was certain that she didn't have any grey hair yet, despite her advancing years. Well we all know that the camera doesn't lie, so make up your own minds.

Having just recovered from a 19 week broken leg event, I know a thing or two about broken legs, however all that pails into insignificance when you see what the wee dog next door had to put up with. Jet is a lovely black lab, always on the go and always full of life. We are not sure how he got into trouble but it is likely that he was struck by a car.
Met Jim and Laraine in DonardCarpark to day for a Pick-nick. The weather was awful but that didn't stop us having a good time. Jim came well prepared and we had a make shift awning up in no time. Good food, Good company and the Craic was good what more could you ask for on a wet windy day at the sea side. We went for a walk down the main street but only got as far a Mauds. Mauds was warm and we spent a good while talking over an icecream. There is nothing as bad a sitting in a wet pair of under pants though!
For many years Ballydown has supported the work of Fields for Life in Uganda. Last night some of the young people that have been helped by that support, came to tell us first hand the difference it has made to their young lives and also some of their aspirations for the future. From Lawyers to Doctors to musicians, they all had a clear vision of where they would like to be going in the not to distant future. Fields of Life build schools, and from humble beginnings have build in the region of 90 something schools in Uganda. It was a blessing to be part of the audience that watched and listened to the Choir last night. They are so full of joy and energy it is contagious. If you haven't seen them my advice is to go and be blessed.
